Howdy!
We are the chapter of The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) in Northwest Florida. DSA is the largest socialist organization in the country and we organize through local and national campaigns to secure our rights. Democratic Socialists fight for racial, economic, and social justice. (What is Democratic Socialism?).
We seek a mass movement of the majority to transform our society from capitalism, marked with exploitation and imperialism, to socialism. We achieve this through organizing the working class. Join DSA!
Pensacola anti-homeless camping ban
City council is meeting on Thursday October 10th at 5:30PM to consider passing a near total ban on camping in Pensacola, even prohibiting people sleeping in a parked automobile. This ban would be devastating and further marginalize our most vulnerable neighbors.
We're asking people to attend the meeting wearing red! We will have signs to decorate. We will be delivering signatures of those who sign to council so they know you oppose this ban. The location is 222 W Main Street Pensacola, FL 32502. You can view the city council meeting agenda here.
2024 electoral campaigns
YES on Amendment 4
Pensacola Protect Abortion is our active priority campaign, an electoral initiative to expand abortion rights in Florida by voting YES on Amendment 4 in 2024!
Haley Morrissette for Florida House District 2
We have also endorsed Haley Morrissette, candidate for Florida State House District 2. Hale is an organizer, social worker, and DSA member! Hale is a mom, Florida social worker of the year, and a proven organizer. Look her up to see the amazing impact they've had for our community.
Yes on 3, Yes on 4, and vote for Hale to fight for more! Haley supports health care for all, including expansion of Medicaid in Florida and would have voted against the six week abortion ban in Florida. Instead she will stand up for bodily autonomy, including abortion access and gender affirming care.

Satoshi Food Share & Homeless Outreach
Every other Sunday, we collect, pack, and share food and supplies with our unhoused neighbors in Pensacola. We are looking for volunteers to help here and in responding to the larger political causes of houselessness and hostility to the unhoused in Pensacola. Houselessness is a policy choice by our elected representatives.
