Pensacola DSA is campaigning to pass Amendment 4 to secure abortion rights in Florida and elect Haley Morrissette for State House District 2 to build an economy and society for everybody! Amendment 3 & 4
It is crucial that we end the war on drugs and restore the right for people to make decisions about their own bodies. Cannabis prohibition ruins lives and has lead to widespread voter disenfranchisement. Amendment 3 will legalize recreational cannabis use. Florida's six week abortion ban is deadly and hurts black women especially. Amendment 4 would restore the right to choose in Florida.
Haley Morrissette for State House District 2
We've also endorsed Haley Morrissette, a social worker, democratic socialist, and organizer running for FL-House District 2, who would have voted against Florida's six week abortion ban! They support healthcare for all by expanding Medicaid and oppose laws in Florida restricting trans rights and health care. She also wants to expunge the records of people convicted of nonviolent cannabis charges and supports divesting Florida from Israel's apartheid.

In Florida, Ron DeSantis and Republicans have imposed draconian restrictions on our bodies and those of our loved ones. DeSantis has stripped rights and protections from people seeking abortion and gender affirming care while today Floridians face the threat of a 6 week abortion ban. Abortion bans entrench racialized poverty and are deadly, with disparate mortality imposed on black women and other marginalized and exploited groups. Abortion bans take away our autonomy, our ability to plan our own future, and often our own lives. A ban on abortion in Florida doesn't just threaten folks in our state, but cuts off a lifeline for people across the Southeast.
We are bringing the fight both inside and outside the ballot box and resolve to achieve free abortion on demand with no apology! By fighting for the 2024 abortion referendum we can take a big step towards those ends and build the mass movement we need to fight back. DSA is bringing word to voters that they will have a choice this year and encourages them to vote Yes on Amendment 4. We need everyone in on this fight and that means you.

Pensacola DSA has endorsed Hale Morrissette for Florida State House District 2! She is a fighter for people of all types and supports healthcare for all by expanding Medicaid in Florida. She seeks to stop the harmful bans in Florida on our bodies and education, to protect women and LGBTQ+ rights, our environment, our public schools, and to build an economy that benefits working people. She supports union organizing and will be a voice for our diverse social movements in office.
