What's At Stake

In Florida, Ron DeSantis and Republicans have imposed draconian restrictions on our bodies and those of our loved ones. DeSantis has stripped rights and protections from people seeking abortion and gender affirming care while today Floridians face the threat of a 6 week abortion ban. Abortion bans entrench racialized poverty and are deadly, with disparate mortality imposed on black women and other marginalized and exploited groups. Abortion bans take away our autonomy, our ability to plan our own future, and often our own lives. A ban on abortion in Florida doesn't just threaten folks in our state, but cuts off a lifeline for people across the Southeast.

What Can We Do?

We are bringing the fight both inside and outside the ballot box and resolve to achieve free abortion on demand with no apology! By fighting for the 2024 abortion referendum we can take a big step towards those ends and build the mass movement we need to fight back. DSA is bringing word to voters that they will have a choice this year and encourages them to vote Yes on Amendment 4. We need everyone in on this fight and that means you.

Trans Rights and Bodily Autonomy

DSA is a member-led democracy of organizers across the country who stand for the values of socialist feminism. We have won abortion fights in Montana, Nebraska, Kentucky, Kansas, and Ohio. Now we will win in Florida. In Pensacola DSA we are building a democratic, community led effort to stand up for the working class and empower it to fight back and win Amendment 4.
